This course introduces the fundamental concepts of ballet. Students begin to learn the classical positions as well as basic movements. They are introduced to the teamwork necessary to learn a routine as a group.
Students work specifically on positioning of the arms and legs along with coordinating the leg, arm and head positions with the rhythm of music both at the ballet barre and in the center. There is a focus on coordination and musicality.
Students practice a full ballet barre with a concentration on the proper execution of the fundamental exercises. Grace, poise and balance will become more developed. Students learn self-discipline, an ability to focus on goals. Students are also introduced to working on pointe
The ballet barre and step combinations become faster and more complicated while students learn to combine technique and artistry. Students train to perfect an advanced level of technique and pointe while learning all aspects of ballet training
Private instruction is offered to students who are interested in refining their ballet technique. Private lessons can also focus on preparation for a specific variation for performances, festivals, competitions, and special events.
